Jess Glynne is riding high this year after accumulating three number one hits with ‘Hold My Hand’, ‘Don’t Be So Hard On Yourself’, and a feature song with Tinie Tempah, ‘Not Letting Go’.
She also won a Grammy for Best Dance Recording for the song ‘Rather Be’ with Clean Bandit earlier this year.
It was a well-deserved win for both U.K. acts as the single reached multi-platinum status in multiple countries such as Australia, the United States, and the U.K. It has also sold well over 4 million copies worldwide!
She’s back at it again with a great cover of Little Mix’s “Black Magic.”
We love the fact that Jess Glynne made the song her own by adding a slow, jazzy soul feel to it which is the complete opposite of the new-wave, dance-pop feel of the original Little Mix version.
Making a very popular track your own is hard, but that’s the challenge of being a talented artist these days. You simply find a way to make the song your own by using your own artistry and voice.
Originality is the key. Jess Glynne has done that beautifully!
