Comedian and I’m A Celebrity Extra Camp presenter Joel Dommett has announced that he is engaged to his girlfriend, model Hannah Cooper.
Staying true to the comedian’s roots, the couple announced the exciting news with a funny Instagram video. Rather than sharing a lovey-dovey image, Joel and Hannah simply shared a short video which shows a toilet lock switch from being ‘vacant’ to ‘engaged’.
The couple recently celebrated their one year anniversary. Sharing a photobooth style image on Instagram, Joel captioned it with “Happy one year anniversary to @hannah_cooper_ – I fell in love with you when I realised that under your stupidly pretty face you are horrifically uncool. Thanks for being ace.. Xx”.
Hannah captioned the same picture with “Same Time. Same Place. 365 Days Later. #SlidIntoTheDMs #TrueLoveStory”, complete with a cat emoji with the heart eyes. This relates to the story of how the couple first got together, as told by Joel on Loose Women back in August.
He revealed that Hannah made the first move by sending him the cat emoji with the heart eyes on Instagram. “That is the modern equivalent of the old phrase ‘you had me at hello’, now it’s ‘you had me at cat emoji’,” he told the Loose Women ladies.
Joel is best known for being a successful comedian, however, he rose to further prominence in 2016 when he took part in I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! Charming the nation with his jokes, good looks and fun personality, he finished in second place as the runner up to Gogglebox’s Scarlett Moffatt.
Since then, Joel made a welcome return to the jungle this year as one of the hosts of I’m A Celebrity Extra Camp alongside Scarlett and Joe Swash. He will also be on tour during 2018 and will be releasing a book called It’s Not Me, It’s Them on February 8, 2018.
