On August 21 Johnnie Guilbert, a famous YouTuber and Internet personality, shared a video with his audience in which he announced that his Instagram account had been deleted. He further explained that he’d contacted customer service professionals in hopes of fixing the issue, but to no avail.
Johnnie appears to be quite disappointed and we can’t blame him for that. Millions of people have been using Instagram for years to keep their brightest memories in one place. Imagine how it would feel to wake up one day just to see all those special moments gone!
Johnnie’s Instagram’s sentimental value aside, the site also provided another way of income for the YouTuber, being his most followed social media account.
Thousands of subscribers have come to their idol’s rescue by getting #GETJOHNNIESINSTAGRAMBACK (yes, in all caps) to trend on Twitter, seeing as the YouTuber has never posted any inappropriate images or replied to comments in an unacceptable manner.
Hey @instagram please give @JohnnieGuilbert his account back it would be greatly appreciated Thank You#GETJOHNNIESINSTAGRAMBACK

Johnnie’s friends and fellow YouTubers took to Twitter as well in order to spread the word about such a miscarriage of justice.

Granted, Instagram is a large networking service and therefore may take a while to sort out customers’ issues, but it seems like providing users with a reason for deleting their account wouldn’t be such a bad idea.
If you’d like to help Johnnie Guilbert get Instagram’s attention, use #GETJOHNNIESINSTAGRAMBACK on Twitter and other social media. We hope the problem can be resolved without Johnnie having to take legal action, which he is currently considering.
