JoJo Open To Working With Bruno Mars

Singer JoJo has spoken of her desire to work with Bruno Mars.

Speaking to Fault Magazine, JoJo was quick to answer when questioned who, past, present or future, she would like to collaborate with.

“Bruno Mars. There’s so much amazing music and talent out there. I think Bruno is kind of the ultimate right now.”

JoJo first burst onto the music scene back in 2004 when she was just 13 years old.

Her debut single ‘Leave (Get Out)’ was an international success, reaching the top 10 in over nine countries.

And when the single reached No. 1 on the Billboard Pop Songs Chart, JoJo became the youngest solo artist ever to have a number-one single in the United States.

More singles and another studio album followed, before JoJo took a ten year long break from the music industry.

In that time away, JoJo says she managed to find her confidence again.

“I had so many people telling me who I should be and what direction I should take, and of course, there’s a big difference between when you’re recording an album at 14 versus 24.”

“I had a lot of life experience, and I think my perspective changed.”

“I just had more fun too! It was more pleasant.”

In 2016 JoJo released her third studio album ‘Mad Love’.

The album featured singles ‘Fu*k Apologies’ and ‘FAB’ and debuted at No. 6 on the Billboard 200.

Reflecting on making the album and how she approaches songwriting in 2016, JoJo explained “my philosophy is ‘live your life and keep your eyes and ears open for songs’.”

“I have found that when I was a little bit younger and dumber, I would put myself in situations or stay longer than I should have just to get as many songs as I could out of it.”

“But now, I just try to write things down constantly and work with collaborators who bring the best out of me and who we work well together.”

JoJo is currently on a tour of North America promoting her new music.
