Alt-pop artist Jonny Craig recently released his new EP, entitled Find Your Home, a sumptuous amalgamation of velvety R&B and cool pop savors.
Jonny, the renowned frontman for Dance Gavin Dance, Emarosa, and Slaves, was also co-vocalist of Isles & Glaciers. Formed in 2008, Isles & Glaciers released their debut EP, The Hearts of Lonely People, in 2010.
On Find Your Home, co-produced by Eric Ron and Anthony Reeder, Jonny pushes the events of his sometimes controversial past into the category of over and done. He’s grown up, gotten sober, and will soon be a father. One thing that hasn’t changed is his matchless voice, with its tantalizing subtle inflections and gift for expressing profound shades of emotion.
With his stellar vocal range, embracing the spectrum between baritone and tenor, along with his gift for conveying poignancy and raw yearning passion, Jonny Craig has one of those voices fat with a sense of erotic imminence.
Find Your Home presents five-tracks, beginning with “Block Out the Noise,” which opens on twirling synths merging into delicious undulating R&B aromas atop a pulsating rhythm. Rich and marvelously evocative, Craig’s voice drips with sad timbres, as gentle radiant harmonies imbue the song with glossy layers.
“D.R.E.A.M” rides an infectious emo-trap rhythm crowned by tasty pop tints, rolling with thick dappled dynamics. Jonny’s voice injects the tune with simmering pressure and touching resolve.
Perhaps the best track is “Forelsket (Euphoria),” opening on glistening hues riding a hefty trap beat. Tumescent with plush R&B tones, Jonny’s cashmere voice infuses the lyrics with voluptuous flavors, rife with taut desire.
“Turning The Page” features lustrous synths gliding over the muscular thudding cadence. Creamy R&B textures as well as deluxe phrasing pervade Jonny’s voice, oh so delish and sinuous.
“ON God,” the final track, glimmers with oscillating colors on a stout thumping rhythm, while Jonny’s fluid stylish timbres, proximate with sensual coloration bathe the lyrics in seductive overtones.
