JP Cooper has released the music video for his latest single, ‘Sing It With Me’ featuring Astrid S.
The visual is a fun, tongue-in-cheek love story with plenty of twists and turns. JP records his love song on a cassette in order to send to Astrid, however, after the postman makes a mistake, the cassette ends up in the wrong hands, leading to an older lady falling head over heels for JP, in addition to half of the town.
Speaking about the visual, JP said: “This video was a real joy to make, I love 90’s American indie films like Slacker, Rushmore and Napoleon Dynamite so the fact that it nods to that era, being a bit quirky and comical without it being silly, is great.
“We filmed it in Estonia with a brief for the location and the characters to all have a slightly Wez Anderson feel which I think the production company nailed. From reading the first treatment from Callum (director) to the final edit, I’ve loved the whole process. I’m usually quite nervous about making music videos but this is the first one of mine that I’ve watched back and smiled all the way through. I hope you enjoy watching it.”

Since its release, ‘Sing It With Me’ has amassed over seven million streams on Spotify. It follows on from the success of JP’s debut 2017 album Raised Under Grey Skies, which featured the smash hits ‘September Song’ and ‘She’s On My Mind’. More recently, JP appeared on ‘One Last Song’ with Gorgon City and Yungen, and released the ‘Cheerleader’ demo.
JP will be heading out on a UK and European tour this October. A full list of dates and links to purchase tickets can be found here.
