For Justin Timberlake, 2018 was anything but calm. The “Say Something” singer had a lot of highs this year and a few lows.
Starting off the year on a high, Timberlake announced his fourth studio album, “Man of the Woods,” would be dropping February 2. He even revealed the tracklist and his first single off the album, “Filthy.” Soon after, he announced his Man of the Woods Tour.
Timberlake and his wife, actress Jessica Biel, attended the Golden Globes on January 7, where Biel was nominated for her role in The Sinner. The couple wore black to support the Time’s Up campaign.
Ten days later (Jan 17), he released the music video for his second single, “Supplies.”
Before the album even dropped, Timberlake released his third single, “ Say Something (feat. Chris Stapleton) on January 24.
The morning of the album release, Timberlake dropped the music video for his title track. The “Man of the Woods” video features Biel and Timberlake in the woods.
On February 4, Timberlake performed at the LII Super Bowl Halftime show singing old and new hits. This performance made selfie kid famous.
Timberlake performed at the Brit Awards on February 21.
His tour kicked off in March where he sang songs from every album.
In the midst of his tour, Timberlake joined the rest of the members of *NSYNC (Chris Kirkpatrick, Joey Fatone, JC Chasez, Lance Bass) to receive their Hollywood Walk of Fame Star on April 30, or to *NSYNC fans “It’s Gonna Be May” day.
To go along with the Star ceremony, the band released merchandise and had a pop-up shop in LA. A second capsule was released in October and even Christmas merchandise was released.
Remember the awesome commercial with Timberlake and Christopher Walken presenting the singer’s juice, Bai? Well, this year in May, a second commercial was made where Timberlake came up with a new flavor, braspberry, which was eventually turned into a flavor for the juice.
In between legs of the tour, a new song, “SoulMate” dropped on July 3. It was not an album song, but was just as catchy. He added it to a few shows’ setlists.
On August 10, Timberlake announced his first book, “HINDSIGHT: And All Of The Things I Can’t See In Front Of Me.” It chronicles his life from childhood to now and also includes exclusive pictures. It later became a best seller. “Hindsight” was released on October 30.
Nominated again for “The Sinner,” Biel and Timberlake attended the Emmy’s on September 17 giving off major relationship goals.
As we have mentioned many times, Timberlake and Shawn Mendes dueted to “What Goes Around, Comes Around” at the iHeartRadio Music Festival on September 22.
He collaborated with LEVIS to release the Fresh Leaves Collection. The clothing line dropped on October 4.
Due to bruised vocal chords in October, Timberlake postponed many tour dates on doctor’s vocal rest orders.
Winning Halloween again, the Timberlake’s, including 3- year-old Silas, got some candy dressed as Lego Batman characters.
On December 5, Timberlake announced he needed more vocal rest and postponed all tour dates until 2019.
We hope Timberlake gets better and has the best 2019 ever.
Timberlake was nominated for 13 awards this year and won two.
