Following on from her relentless touring with pal Ed Sheeran, Anne-Marie has found herself with some time on her hands. This has led to her creating her own YouTube series called ‘Karate With Anne-Marie‘, the first episode of which dropped today.
In the new weekly series, fans will see Anne-Marie showing off the traditional Japanese style of Shotokan which she is a former triple world champion in. This style focuses on self-defence, strength and the journey of where you come from to where you go. She explains in her introductory video that “I want to show that side of it rather than doing a backflip off a wall“. In Episode 1 which can be seen below, the pop songstress tells viewers her karate journey and introduces us to her Sensei Jo who’s she had since she first started the art.
Having started Karate when she was just nine years old there’s even more importance behind the sport for the singer. With her debut EP released in 2015 named, yes you guessed it Karate it was also the title of her very first single. The video for the track sees her flaunting some of her moves which we can expect to see featured in the YouTube series.
We’re huge fans of Anne-Marie and her relationship with her fanbase and in doing this series we think it’s going to win the hearts of many more. We can’t wait to see which famous friends she enlists as special guests for the series. If you’ve ever wanted to learn some karate moves who better to do it with than Anne-Marie?
