Multi-hyphenate artist, Kat Von D, known for her history-making tattoos, television shows, best-selling books, and influential beauty empire, recently unveiled her new single/music video, “Vampire Love,” a track from her upcoming album set for release in 2024.
Talking about the new song, Kat shares, “’Vampire Love’ is a vibey, goth-disco jam about our desire for eternal love. I absolutely loved getting to write it with the legendary Shep Solomon. I saw the idea for the music video in my head as we were writing the song, and it was so cool to see it come to life.”
The video, directed by Ryan Valdez, features model Julien Crane and celebrated Spanish artist Vinila Von Bismark.
Prior to achieving fame in the tattoo and beauty industry, Kat Von D spent most of her time immersed in her first love, music. A classically trained pianist, Kat’s exploration of all genres of music led to her unique sound, blending Goth and synth-wave into shadowy, voluptuous sonic concoctions.
“Vampire Love’ follows on the heels of her debut album, Love Made Me Do It, and the Exorcisms EP, establishing her bona fides as a musical tour de force.
Rolling out on a throbbing, sensuous, mid-tempo rhythm topped by Kat Von D’s Medusa-like voice, at once bewitching and darkly sultry. Akin to an erotic, synth wave version of Sade, there’s a subtle spellbinding savor to Kat’s vocals, imbuing the lyrics with ghostly surfaces of tantalizing seduction.
“Just take me away / Into your secret paradise / Come just steal my fate / There’s only you and me tonight / I got so much rage / That needs to come out from inside / Don’t care what’s wrong, what’s right / Give me some of that / Vampire Love.”
Hauntingly gorgeous, with “Vampire Love,” Kat Von D struts her mesmerizing voice, captivating listeners with its quixotic allure.
