Katy Perry has apologised to actor Ryan Phillippe after rumours the pair were dating got out of hand.
Stories appeared online last month, suggesting that the singer and actor were seen getting friendly at Elton John’s 70th birthday party in LA.
This has lead to Phillippe being hounded by paparazzi who thought the couple could now be dating.
Writing on Twitter over the weekend Ryan said “I AM NOT DATING KATY PERRY”
“PLEASE STOP FLYING HELICOPTERS OVER MY HOUSE. SHE IS NOT HERE.”

Responding to a fans tweet, Ryan added that he doesn’t mind people thinking he’s dating the ‘Firework’ singer, he just doesn’t want “low flying pervs hovering periodically.”

Ryan then joked with another fan who tweeted that this is what “someone who has Katy Perry in a basement would say”.
Ryan clearly saw the funny side by tweeting “shhhh.”

Katy has now taken to her own Twitter page to respond to Ryan’s comments.
“Hi, nice to meet you” Perry tweeted. “sorry bout that @RyanPhillippe carry on, lol (laugh out loud).”

Ryan Phillippe, who currently stars as Bob Lee Swagger in USA Network thriller Shooter, split with his ex-fiancée Paulina Slagter in November 2016 after five years together.
Katy Perry broke up with actor Orlando Bloom earlier this year after a year of dating.
