Katy Perry is back! The singer took to social media today to announce her new single, “Never Really Over,” will be released on Friday, 5/31.
She also posted the cover art which features Perry with long golden locks, purple eye shadow, and a bright orange outfit.
Perry and her team have not confirmed if this is a lead single for KP5. Fans believe it is a collaboration between her and Zedd, who worked with her on the newly released, “365.”
If it is a new lead single, it would be the follow-up to 2015’s “Witness,” a purposeful pop album. Since Witness The Tour wrapped up in 2018, Perry has released singles to get the fans wanting more. “Cozy Little Christmas” was a promotional song through Amazon and Perry assisted Daddy Yankee on a remix of his Latin-pop hit, “Con Calma.”
Along with the cover art, Perry changed her profile picture to what looks like a Ying and yang sign with a heart in the middle, which was posted for an L.A. event for KatyCats the same day the single drops.
I guess the message confirmed in the capitalized NRO, Never Really Over is the next single by Katy Perry and the invitation is a hint that the song will be an inspirational healing song like Firework, Roar or By The Grace of God. ? #KATYISCOMING pic.twitter.com/8Y6QuARZRU
