Kesha took to Twitter to thank Lady Gaga and Joe Biden for the attention they brought to sexual assault at the Oscars.
At the Oscars on February 28, 2016, Lady Gaga (singer and actress) and Joe Biden (Vice President of the United States) both brought attention to survivors of sexual assault.
Before Gaga’s performance, Vice President Joe Biden gave a speech about how we can change our culture just by intervening when consent hasn’t or can’t be given.
Lady Gaga preformed her song “Til It Happens To You.” This song is featured in a documentary called The Hunting Ground. Gaga’s performance ended with her bringing out a group of people who have survived sexual assault with messages written on their arms.
Kesha is still currently in a lawsuit against her former producer Dr. Luke. She tweeted to Lady Gaga after Gaga tweeted to her and Joe Biden thanking them for bringing awareness to assault.
.@kesharose I’ll be thinking of u 2nite. This is not over we’ll stand by u until you are free to live a HAPPY life. Everyone deserves that.
