Kiera Weathers releases empowering debut single ‘You Gotta Be’

For her debut single, Kiera Weathers has put her very own spin on Des’ree’s ‘You Gotta Be.’ With a fresh beat and slick vocals, she’s given the song a whole new lease of life!

Kiera made it to the live shows of The X Factor last year and since then, she’s been busy performing across the country. Now, with a hot new single, it’s her time to shine.

‘You Gotta Be’ was originally released by Des’ree back in 1994. Over the years, it’s been covered by several artists but Kiera’s version is definitely one of our favourites.

Lyrically, ‘You Gotta Be’ is all about having the inner strength to figure out who you are deep inside. The uplifting track mentions the importance of acting the right way in the right situation. You gotta be cool, you gotta be calm, you gotta stay together.

Encouraging fans to get involved with her single release, Kiera Weathers asked fans to share videos of themselves. She tweeted: “Guys I wanna see your moves to #YOUGOTTABE ! Better yet I wanna hear you sing it!!! Send me your videos!

Fellow X Factor finalists Reggie ‘N’ Bollie also took to Twitter to show Kiera their support. They said: “We are really proud of our girl @kieraweathers1! She just dropped her Wicked 1st Single #YouGottaBe! Guys make sure you support her!

Kiera’s rendition of ‘You Gotta Be’ is available here on iTunes. It may only have been released yesterday but the song has already entered the top 100 of of the iTunes pop charts. With more sales and more streams, it’s bound to rise even further.

It’s a fantastic first release from Kiera Weathers. The stunning singer has certainly impressed her fans and we’re sure there’s more great tunes to follow soon. Make sure you follow @KieraWeathers1 on Twitter to keep up to date with her latest projects.
