Former Girls Aloud star, actress, and dancer Kimberley Walsh will be taking on the role of Susan Lawrence. Kimberley previously made her West End debut in 2012 when she played Princess Fiona in Shrek the Musical.
Wendi Peters, best known for playing Cilla Battersby-Brown in Coronation Street, will be playing Mrs Baskin, Josh’ mum. The actress is no stranger to the stage, having performed in numerous plays and musicals over the years.
Actor and presenter Matthew Kelly is also a theatre regular, although most notably he is known for presenting Stars In Their Eyes. He will be starring as George MacMillan, the owner of MacMillan Toy Company.
Big the Musical is based on the 1988 film starring Tom Hanks and follows 12-year-old Josh Baskin who simply wants to be ‘big’. After making a wish on a Zoltar machine at a local carnival, his wish is granted and he wakes up trapped in an adult’s body. However, is being ‘big’ all it’s cracked up to be?
Big the Musical will make its way to London’s Dominion Theatre on September 6 for a nine week run, finishing on November 2.
