Having scored the song of the summer, with the catchy-as-hell dance-pop jam “Padam Padam”, global icon Kylie Minogue makes her presence felt once again this week with the unveiling of her brand new single, “Tension”.
Serving as the title track from her highly-anticipated 16th studio album, out September 22nd via BMG, the punchy, club-ready track sees Minogue team up with long term collaborators Biff Stannard (Spice Girls) and Duck Blackwell (Louis Tomlinson), as well as KAMILLE, Anya Jones and Jon Green, to produce 90’s house inspired dance anthem, full of euphoric abandon!
Commenting previously on the “Tension” era, Kylie said in a statement: “I started this record with an open mind and a blank page. Unlike my last two albums there wasn’t a ‘theme’, it was about finding the heart, or the fun, or the fantasy of that moment and always trying to service the song. I wanted to celebrate each song’s individuality and to dive into that freedom. I would say it’s a blend of personal reflection, club abandon and melancholic high.”

The singles release comes following the recent announcement of Minogue’s upcoming TV special, ‘An Audience with Kylie’.
Set to air on ITV1 and ITVX, the show will see the Australian pop icon take to the stage at the legendary Royal Albert Hall in London to perform a selection of her greatest hits, plus new songs from “Tension”. Kylie will also take questions from the celebrity audience of friends, personal heroes, actors, musicians, artists, sportsmen and women.
“I’m so excited to announce that I am teaming up with ITV for ‘An Audience…’ with at London’s iconic Royal Albert Hall!” Minogue said in a statement. “I’ll be performing some of my favourite tracks from throughout my career and no doubt answering some surprising questions from the audience. I can’t wait to share this moment with you all.”
