TV presenter Laura Whitmore is the third celebrity to be added to this year’s Strictly Come Dancing line up.
Laura visited Nick Grimshaw during his Radio 1 Breakfast Show to announce the news. It was also shared on Strictly’s Twitter account.

Laura said that she was a huge fan of the show, and shared her excitement and nerves, stating:
It’s an incredible show and I feel so honoured to be asked to be part of it. I’m not going to lie, I’m slightly petrified too!
During her chat with Nick, Laura also revealed that she has wanted to be on Strictly since the show first started, and has been asked to compete many times before. However, the time has never been right, until now! “I was afraid they might not ask me again,” she said.
Up until last year, Laura presented the I’m A Celebrity spin-off show, Get Me Out Of Here Now, which clashed with Strictly. However, it was announced that Laura quit the show earlier this year, therefore making her available for Strictly and other opportunities.
Laura is the first female contestant to be added to this year’s line up. She joins Will Young and Ed Balls, who were revealed earlier this week.
Further announcements are expected very soon, with Strictly fans eager to discover who else will be on the line up. Laura revealed that the line up is so top secret, that each contestant has been given a Shakespearean code name – she was ‘Lady Macbeth’!
