Singer Will Young, who rose to fame after winning Pop Idol, is the second celebrity to be confirmed for this year’s Strictly Come Dancing.
Will has been rumoured for a few weeks, however, the news was officially announced on Strictly’s Twitter account earlier this afternoon.

Talking about the news, Will said that he’d always wanted to be on the show. He said:
As a fan of Strictly for years, I have always imagined myself on the show, but the timing has not been right… until now!
He added: “Music is my passion and the dancing I have done has always been with a microphone in hand. Now there will be no microphone or band, just me, my partner and the dance floor.”
We’re expecting great things from Will, as he is no stranger to demonstrating some moves. He was nominated for a Laurence Olivier Award in the revival of Cabaret the musical and is bound to possess a natural flair on the dance floor.
Will joins former shadow chancellor Ed Balls on this year’s line up, with more contestants due to be announced over the coming weeks.
