Lea Michele drops breathtaking ballad ‘Love is Alive’

After three long years awaiting new music, Lea Michele is gearing up for the release of her sophomore album Places due out this spring. She just unveiled the first song off her upcoming record and let us say, it is pure magic.

“Love is Alive” effortlessly showcases Michele’s raw vulnerability. “Oh can’t you hear it in my voice, oh can’t you see it in my eyes, love, love is alive in me,” she sings passionately during the chorus. The elegant ditty is quite simplistic. With soft piano and light production, one can’t help but get lost in such passionate lyrics.

“I wanted a song on the album that represented where I am personally in my life right now and this song is exactly that,” Michele revealed to People magazine. “It’s about believing in love and the power and beauty of love. It made me so happy while recording it, and I hope it brings the same light and joy to everyone else as it has for me.”

The Glee alum tweeted her satisfaction following the track’s release shortly after midnight on Friday.

Michele is also scheduled to support her new single with a performance on an upcoming episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, set to air March 16.
