American actress, singer and author Lea Michele released her debut solo album, ‘Louder,’ on 4th March 2014, which featured the hits ‘Cannonball’ and ‘Battlefield’. It debuted at number 4 on the Billboard 200 after selling over 62,000 copies in the first week and Lea also became the first Glee star to chart as a lead soloist. Pretty impressive right?
Well, after waiting for what has seemed like centuries, Lea’s fans are now overjoyed at the fact that she is so close to releasing her second album! Actually, it is pretty much finished!
The former Glee star added the finishing touches to her second record at the start of the month, captioning an Instagram of her in the studio with “Finishing touches on Album #2 today.. ???”
Lea has since posted this snap captioned “LISTENING SESSION // #albumnumbertwo,” implying the record is pretty much ready to go once she has given each track her seal of approval.
Lea has recruited Toby Gad for her upcoming sophomore album, who has written and produced for some of the biggest artists, including John Newman, Tori Kelly, Olly Murs and Hilary Duff. He has also contributed towards the upcoming releases of the most exciting artists in the industry right now, such as Louisa Johnson and Jess Glynne, so we think it’s safe to say that Lea is in safe hands! Plus, if the hits of the other artists Gad had worked with are anything to go by, Miss Michele’s next record is going to be an absolute smash.
Lea is set to release her second studio album later on this year via Sony Music Entertainment/Columbia Records, so she certainly isn’t doing it quietly! Sure, it must be huge pressure to be releasing with such an eminent label, but we have no doubts that Lea is going to step up to the plate.
The project is still untitled, however, fans are still excited to get the first listen, as you can see from some of their Tweets!

We cannot wait to listen to what our favourite Glee star’s new music sounds like, will it be as raw and emotional, yet with a little bit of pop, as ‘Louder?’ Or will it be a totally different sound? Only time will tell! One thing is for sure and that is Lea has worked so hard on this project as it has been produced at the same time as her working on Season 2 of ‘Scream Queens,’ how does she do it?
