Leah Kate continues her stride to reach a larger fan base with her newest deeply personal single, “Left With A Broken Heart.” The LA-based artist takes on a pessimistic view on love, inspired by the experience of a family member.
“This song means a lot to me because it was written during a time in my life when a close family member of mine was going through a serious breakup,” Leah Kate begins in a post. “I resonate with the feelings of others a lot especially when they’re close to me. I wrote this song from his perspective after watching what he went through in order to help him cope with the heartbreak.”
Leah Kate is working in her own lane, crafting relatable, emotional music that works with poise and precision. “When you grow older, some people fall apart. That’s what I was told.” This single comes after the release of “WTF?”, a telling tale about being confused when the guy she used to push away is now ghosting her. The glossy electronic synths and vocal harmonies give off a fun, let-loose mood to the honest emotions in the song.
“I want to remind girls and anyone not to let someone make you think that YOU did something,” Leah Kate said about the single. “Sometimes you have to make light of situations and know that it is not meant to be. Sometimes, you just have to laugh at situations and realize it’s just your ego talking, you probably don’t really give a f–k, be strong.”
