Taking an unbothered stance when it comes to party poopers, Leanne Hoffman stuns listeners with her care-free mainstream-pop single, titled “Pity Party”. The track has also been accompanied by a living-it-up music video that brings good vibes to all the viewers. This is the follow-up to her previous single, “Portuguese Tarts”.
Leanne Hoffman is a Nova Scotia-based singer-songwriter who has transformed the poems she has created into awesome pop music that is beyond addicting. In early 2019, she started out by focusing on creating one poem for 365 days – a full year. While in this process, she dropped her debut single, “Blind and Broken” in March of the same year. She continued to release music, leading up to her debut studio album, “What Remains”, which also led to her gaining tens of thousands of streams. Her track, “Growin’ Old”, from the said album, soon gained some traction, so much so that it has become her mist-streamed track on Spotify, at the moment. 2019 continued, and so did her daily poems, and by the end of the 365 days, she had a book full of poems, which she has fittingly named “The Text Collector” – a title of which is also the name of her upcoming sophomore album. Once she had completed the daily poetry project, she decided to launch it on social media, and it gained momentum. In doing so, she realised that she could play around with her words and transform them into pop music, and soon enough an album was formed. “The Text Collector” is a different tone compared to her 2019 debut and is set to not only showcase her as an artist but also bring her awesome poetry and songwriting abilities to the forefront.
Written by Annina Josefiina Bergman, Erin Costelo, Isabella Manganiello, Leanne Hoffman, and Nicco Sanchez-Harris, whilst production was handled by Erin Costelo and Leanne Hoffman, “Pity Party”, is an addictive mainstream-pop track that deserves to become a hit.

This awesome addictive track allows Leanne Hoffman to be free and to independently work the microphone. Bringing that fun energy throughout the song, she delivers the lyrics with perfect nonchalance and a fighting spirit with the intention of not letting anyone or anything spoil her time. It’s a fired-up track that stays with the listener until the end of the day.
As for the music video, which has been directed by Alexa Fay, they’ve impressively managed to transform the song into the party that Leanne Hoffman is describing – minus the party pooper, those people need to find a corner and have their own pity party. We totally get this and absolutely love the music video, it’s clear that she had a lot of fun dancing the night away, the visual is just something that effortlessly brings instant joy to those of us who enjoy the pop and dance music scene. Interactive from the get-go, the song and music video invites you to a house party, but make it clear that anyone seeing to bring the mood down are not going to affect the others in this group – and that’s exactly how it should be.
