It has been announced that one of our all time favourite X Factor contestants, Leona Lewis, is going to be replacing Nicole Scherzinger in ‘Cats’ on Broadway!
The British beauty shall make her Broadway debut in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s famous musical starring as Grizabella the “Glamour Cat,’ who is known for singing one of the production’s most notable songs, “Memory.”
The announcement comes after the news broke that Nicole Scherzinger will no longer be starring in the show. She dropped out just before rehearsals began in order to return to the UK X Factor as a judge, as confirmed by Andrew Lloyd Webber. Nicole played Grizabella for three months when the musical returned to the West End for a run at the London Palladium in 2014, however, we can’t wait to see what Leona brings to the cast!
Mr. Lloyd Webber himself seems thrilled about Leona being the new addition to the cast as he Tweeted:

And Leona is simply overjoyed as well, saying in a statement, “I am beyond thrilled for my Broadway debut to be in such an iconic show.”
