One Direction’s Liam Payne announced on Twitter today that he has signed with Capitol UK records!

We are so happy for Liam! In fact, it’s not all that unusual for an artist to sign with record company as a solo artist. One of the best examples would be The Beatles! As a band, they were signed to Capitol Records. Capitol also signed each member to a solo contract, some had huge careers and some had just one hit tune. Even though signed to a solo deal, they all together were still The Beatles.
Just like The Eagles, Don Henley and Joe Walsh had amazing solo careers, and still do. Yet, still coming back to write and perform as The Eagles, it’s like the best of both worlds!
So many notable artists and bands come out of Capitol records. Sam Smith, Coldplay, Duran Duran, Pink Floyd and so many more.
Liam then tweeted about his home, his family, One Direction.

Just because one starts a new chapter, doesn’t always mean the book is closed.
Just like his header on Twitter, his brothers will always be there. Not always together, but never forgotten. Harry, Liam, Louis, and Niall may chose a different adventure but they will always have each other. They will always be home. They will always be One Direction.
We wish nothing but the best for Liam, he is a wonderful artist and we know what whatever Payno goes out to achieve he will do great things.
