Beating the likes of One Direction, Ellie Goulding and Sam Smith, U.K. girl group Little Mix
have come out on top!
Not only are the girls this years Best UK/Ireland Act, but are also the first U.K. girl group to win an MTV EMA’s award FOR that category.
Considering the amount of girl groups we’ve had the past two decades this is quite exciting!
Check out all the past award winners here!
In addition, since the girls were able to come to victory with this award, they are now an eligible nominee for Best Worldwide Act: Europe!
If the girls manage to beat out all the other European nominees, “when EMA winners are announced on 25 October during our Milan event, 6 Worldwide Act winners will emerge, each representing a different portion of the planet: Africa/India, Asia, Australia/New Zealand, Europe, Latin America, and North America”, according to the MTV EMA site!
Little Mix representing Europe sounds pretty surreal to us and we’re sure the girls will be very excited to win such an award!
