You heard right! Little Mix has just dropped a festive version of their latest single release ‘Love Me Like You’, and just in time for the holidays!
Following their summer single ‘Black Magic’, ‘Love Me Like You’ is the girl group’s second single officially released from their third album, ‘Get Weird’. The original single was released 25th September 2015, but the Christmas version was released just hours ago. (Not that we’ve been streaming it on Spotify every hour since, or anything). Of course, the single was appropriately titled ‘Love Me Like You (Christmas Mix)’. We see what you did there, girls.
For the ‘Christmas Mix’, the girl group used their original music video for ‘Love Me Like You’, save for an updated song title. Of course, Perrie, Jade, Leigh, and Jesy look as stunning as ever in their elegant ball gowns.
Throughout the video, the girls are seen in different moments, all fawning helplessly over the same boy. Humorously, the 4 of them receive the same pink corsage from him and an invitation to Moonlight Under the Stars, a rather quirky looking school dance.
With their hair done up and their makeup complete, they wait longingly for their Prince Charming to show up, only to be disappointed and upset when he shows up with a new date (boys are complicated creatures).
The new song features plenty of traditional holiday bell instrumentals, which some say give the song a definite Christmas feel! However, others believe it had a festive sound even before the instrumental additions.
Either way, the girls have definitely created a new fan pleaser!
A plethora of artists, from Ariana Grande to Fetty Wap, have been pumping out the year’s newest potential holiday hits lately. However, Little Mix’s harmonies definitely
give their newest song something truly angelic. Most of all, it showcases how much of a variety Little Mix possesses when it comes to music. They can go from summer pop to holiday caroling without a hitch. Props!
Even if you can’t hit Perrie’s high notes, this song may have you belting it out like nobody’s watching. If you haven’t seen it yet, you can watch it here and tweet us @CelebMix or drop us a comment below and give us your thoughts!
