Sounds Like Friday Night is the BBC’s latest music show which each week plays host to some of the hottest music acts in the world. One of their new segments is ‘Gig in a Minute’ which sees various stars trying to sing as many of their hits as they can in just sixty seconds.
Last week saw singer-songwriter and Take That front man Gary Barlow take on the challenge, but on Friday (April 13) it was the turn of girlband extraordinaire, Little Mix.
Filmed in Tokyo during their recent tour, SLFN host Dotty gave Leigh-Anne, Jade, Jesy and Perrie the challenge of squeezing in as many of their hit singles as they could in a minute. Laying down the law, Dotty explained that the lyrics had to be audible and recognisable or it wouldn’t count – “savage”, as Jade said, but fair.
As soon as Dotty started her stopwatch, Little Mix were straight in there with a little bit of ‘Black Magic’. During the sixty seconds, they managed to perform nine of their biggest hits including ‘Secret Love Song’, ‘Shout Out To My Ex’, ‘Move’, and ‘Touch’.
They might have been one song short of beating Gary’s total of 10, however, they delivered each song armed with stunning harmonies, cementing their status as absolute queens.
In the previous episode of Sounds Like Friday Night, Dotty’s interview with Little Mix was aired. The chat was focused around their incredible following in Japan, with the girls showcasing their Japanese skills by singing a translated version of ‘Wings’. Little Mix also spoke about their forthcoming fifth album and which former girlbander they’d add as their fifth member.
