Video platform Vevo have revealed the ten most-watched music videos in the UK from January 1 to June 30, 2017.
Proving that girl power is alive and well, our fierce foursome Little Mix are at the top of the chart with ‘Touch’. The dance extravaganza, choreographed by Parris Goebel (Justin Bieber’s ‘Sorry’), has a phenomenal 35.4 million views in the UK alone. Directed by the renowned Director X, it’s safe to say that the UK has been obsessed with the pastel aesthetic, iconic dance routine and the girls’ video look.
Little Mix are the only female act to appear in the top 10 as a standalone artist. RAYE and Halsey are fourth and seventh on the chart thanks to their collaborations with Jax Jones and The Chainsmokers respectively.
The number two spot goes to The Weekend. His dark video for ‘Starboy’, which saw him say goodbye to his former self, has garnered 34.3 million views. Other artists in the top ten include DJ Khaled, Shawn Mendes and James Arthur.
Luis Fonsi’s ‘Despacito’ also makes an appearance at number 10. Whilst it is only the tenth most-watched video in the UK so far this year, it is actually number one on Vevo’s worldwide mid-year top 10, having been viewed over two billion times!
