While on tour in Australia, the girls of Little Mix talked to Sydney’s The Daily Telegraph, and spilled some details about their upcoming fourth album.

The girls have just finished up the UK and Australian legs of the Get Weird Tour, and will be touring Asia and Europe for the rest of May and June. Unless a surprise North American Tour is announced (we’re still crossing our fingers) it seems that Little Mix will spend the latter half of 2016 writing and recording their new album.

The girls revealed that they are aiming for an R&B vibe for album number four. Jesy Nelson said “We actually have no idea what it will be yet, but we would like it to be something you would hear at the club and still quality music.” It seems like the possibilities are endless for this mysterious fourth album!

Many Mixers are on board with the idea of an R&B sound, and are hoping for a collection reminiscent of the album Salute.

Another potential concept for the fourth album is collaborations. The girls have said that their top picks for a collaboration on album 4 would be rappers such as Macklemore or Nicki Minaj. Little Mix have had features by T-Boz and Missy Elliot on DNA, and Jason DeRulo and Sean Paul on Get Weird. There have also been talks of One Direction member Liam Payne writing with them for album 4.

Leigh-Anne Pinnock also said in the interview: “We always like to change things up. We wouldn’t want to bring out an album that everyone would expect it to be.” The mixers seem to agree with her!

The only question on everyone’s minds is “when?” The girls said the album will be recorded by the end of the year, so the album could be released at any time during 2017. However, we want to give Little Mix as much time as they need to make an album they’re happy with!
