Livin’ Joy vocalist Tameko Star is set to share an exclusive playlist, filled with her favourite 90s and 2000s tracks as part of Women’s History Month.
The playlist will air on SiriusXM’s Utopia station this Wednesday.
Chatting about her mix, Tameko Star says: “I am so excited to be sharing some of my favourite female-led tracks from the 90s and 00s as part of Women’s History Month. I cannot wait for you all to hear my choices, to give you a little taster, there’s tracks in there from CeCe Peniston, Rozalla and my fellow sister in song Janice Robinson (former Livin’ Joy vocalist). Tune in to find out what else I’ll be playing!”
“I hope you tune in, turn it up and have a boogie to all of these incredible female artists!”
Star is better known as the eurodance sensation Livin’ Joy, with the top ten hits ‘Don’t Stop Movin’, ‘Follow The Rules’, ‘Where Can I Find Love’ and the cover of Janice Robinson’s ‘Dreamer’.
To date, Livin’ Joy has been streamed over 180 million times alongside millions of record sales worldwide.
Tameko Star recently returned to the music world with her single ‘Something Beautiful’ in November of last year, with plans of an EP due in the spring.
Chatting to RetroPop about flourishing as an independent arts i and working on new music, she said:
“Now is the time where independent artists can flourish, as opposed to being under a record label, being the last to get paid and being cheated out of your money, and being tossed about in the industry. Let me take the reins on my own accord and make music that I love for myself and for the Livin’ Joy fans – so I did, and here comes Something Beautiful. Literally, that’s the title of the song…”
You will be able to hear Tameko’s playlist this 3pm ET, again at 8pm ET (7pm GMT) and On Demand via the SiriusXM Utopia app – search Women Of Utopia.
