Lorde, 19, has been fairly busy recently performing at California’s world-renowned Coachella Music Festival, and also making an appearance at this year’s 2016 Met Gala that is held in New York City. However, she has been thoroughly enjoying her time off of her chaotic schedule in her homeland of New Zealand.
The Royals singer was born in Takapuna, and raised in Devonport, Auckland as a child. It’s the place where she became interested in performing and why her heart is so attached to NZ.
The star took a trip down to Ngarunui beach with an old school friend named Tim Teesdale; wearing a highly flattering blue bikini as she made the most of the last couple months of the New Zealand summer.

She showed off her natural beauty as she let her curls hang effortlessly loose for the beach day.
As Tim tagged alongside Lorde for her beach day, she got the opportunity to really catch up with her old time friend. As she watched him surf intently, she sported grey jogging bottoms, and a white t-shirt while holding a pair of white Beats headphones.
She also posted a snap on Instagram with the caption ‘watching tim surf today from the backseat of the car. tim has been my friend since we were 13; he’s a nature wizard and a deep thinker, and he doesn’t talk a lot but pretty much everything he says is a poem. he also thinks most things i do are deeply uncool and for that i’ll probably love him forever.’

We applaud Lorde for being an artist who has remained true to herself and her roots. She does what she wants and doesn’t think too deeply about what anyone else will say about it – and for that, we can’t help but love her!
