90s pop icon Louise continues her epic return to planet pop with the release of her latest track, Breaking Back Together.
The fourth single to be lifted from Louise’s hotly anticipated studio album Heavy Love sees the former Eternal star singing herself back to life as she recovers from a devastating heartbreak.
Produced by Grammy nominated Michael Angelo (Sam Smith, Ella Eyre, Maverick Sabre) and co-written by Louise, Adam Argyle (Dua Lipa, Rag & Bone Man) and Sinead Harnett, Breaking Back Together is a song about holding on to hope, and the belief that our best days are still yet to come despite feeling like the world around us is about to come crashing down.
“In time you’re going to shine, you’ll see.”
Brave, honest and real… this is Louise emotionally stripped bare, refusing to give in to her inner demons and taking back control of her own narrative – yes she’s been hurt, but she will not break and she will not crumble, she will instead dig deep, rise above and “hold on”.
Melancholy in it’s sound but powerful in it’s message, the haunting track with it’s emotive, conversational lyrics and universal message, tells a tale which we can all relate to, we’re going to have our hearts broken, we’re going to feel helpless but our struggles won’t define us and in time, we will be okay because at the end of the day the heart is a part of our soul and “tearing souls makes them strong.”
‘Just when you think it never ends, that’s when you find yourself again.’
Slower in pace than most recent single releases Stretch, Small Talk and Lead Me On, Breaking Back Together acts as the perfect showcase for Louise the vocalist, as she explores all textures and tones of her voice taking listeners on an emotional journey of self discovery as soft, delicate verses give way to impassioned, defiant choruses as Lou’s vocals soar and shine during the tracks most anthemic moments.
“Breaking Back Together holds a very special place in my heart” Louise says ahead of the tracks release.
“The lyrics in the chorus came from my Mum actually, I remember her saying these words to me when times were really difficult… but as they say Mums know best, and it’s true.”
