Singer, songwriter, and performer extraordinaire Lucy & La Mer has released her latest song “Ice Cream”. The single captures what the dynamic songwriter does best, pen relatable and catchy pop tunes.
“Ice Cream’ is an autobiographical single all about the anxiety and fear that can often arise when falling in love or starting a new relationship. We often are scared of what our new lover might find and question whether or not they will like and accept every part of us, even our flaws. In “Ice Cream”, Lucy & La Mer highlights this important theme. She confides, “As an anxious person, I’m constantly overthinking in relationships. Like, what if they find out that I’m not what they thought? What if I get insecure and sabotage the whole thing?!” When someone with anxiety falls in love, it’s like this new wonderful thing… that you now get to worry about constantly.” The folk pop tune shines with effervescent melodies and minimal instrumentation. Infectious, bright and upbeat are all words to describe this fun-loving musical gem.
Lucy & La Mer is not only a popular singer and songwriter, but she is also a proud bisexual icon. Speaking regularly at impactful LGBTQ+ events, she champions the queer experience and highlights causes near and dear. Her catalog of music is fun, cathartic and relatable.
