It’s that time of the year again. Countries have started revealing their representatives for the Eurovision Song Contest 2018. This time, all the representatives will gather in Lisbon to celebrate their country’s music and culture.
On 28th January, it was France’s turn to reveal its candidates for the competition. The country, through its national selection process, chose Madame Monsieur to represent France at the Eurovision Song Contest. The duo won the selection round with their song “Mercy”.
Madame Monsieur are a French duo consisting of vocalist Émilie Satt and producer Jean-Karl Lucas. While the duo has been active since 2013, they released their debut album Tandem in the year 2016.
France is one of the “Big Five” countries, meaning that they are one of the biggest financial contributors to the European Broadcasting Union. The country has also won the competition five times. It will be interesting to see if Madame Monsieur will be able to get their country to win for the sixth time.
