We’re still a few months away until Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again makes its way to our cinemas, however, the official movie soundtrack is available to pre-order now.
Polydor has announced that the Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again The Movie Soundtrack, produced by ABBA’s Benny Anderson, will be released on July 13, with the film following a week later. Those who pre-order will receive ‘When I Kissed The Teacher’ immediately.
The track is sung by Lily James, Alexa Davies and Jessica Kennan Wynn, who play young Donna and her best friends/girlband Rosie and Tanya (The Dynamos) respectively. In celebration of the song’s release, an official lyric video has also been unveiled which showcases additional footage from the movie.
Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again is the highly anticipated sequel to the original Mamma Mia! movie. Meryl Streep, Amanda Seyfried, Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth, Stellan Skarsgård, Julie Walters, Dominic Cooper and Christine Baranski will be reprising their roles in the movie, whilst new additions to the cast include Lily James, Cher, Alexa Davies, Josh Dylan, Andy Garcia, Jeremy Irvine, Hugh Skinner and Jessica Keenan Wynn.
The sequel will switch between the past and present, allowing us to find out more about Donna’s past. The final trailer was released earlier this week.
The original Mamma Mia! movie was released back in 2008. Based on the songs of ABBA, the original soundtrack sold over 1.5 million copies in the UK, racking up over 7.7 million sales globally. The soundtrack has also amassed over 406 million combined streams.
This is no surprise considering ABBA’s incredible success worldwide. The Swedish quartet have sold over 385 million albums worldwide, achieving over 2.8 billion streams. ABBA recently announced that they’ve recorded two new songs together, their first in over 35 years.
