‘Handmade Heaven’ is the long-awaited lead single taken from MARINA’s highly anticipated fourth studio album, which is expected to be released within the first quarter of 2019
MARINA, formerly known as Marina and The Diamonds, has released her first solo single under her new stage name. ‘Handmade Heaven’ is a swift follow up from Clean Bandit’s 2018 reggaeton single, ‘Baby’ which MARINA appeared on vocally alongside Luis Fonzi.
‘Baby’ has received a well-respected commercial response from the UK, landing at number fifteen in the singles chart. It has also charted wide within Europe and has become a landmark single for Clean Bandit’s 2018 album, ‘What Is Love?’
It has been said for quite some time MARINA’s lead single would land in early 2019, even the Welsh songstress herself has confirmed her fourth album to be released this year. However, before entering a new era, MARINA dropped ‘and The Diamonds’ and capitalised the new stage name across all platforms.
This then lead to fans assuming the small change in name meant that new music was coming imminently – and they weren’t lying. MARINA took to Instagram to share a photo taken from a DAZED interview to initiate the new era and countdown to the release of ‘Handmade Heaven’.
‘Handmade Heaven’ has been praised by fans and critics alike. With it being the first MARINA single in four years, fans were unsure as to what to expect but were pleasantly surprised upon the new single’s release.
The official video for ‘Handmade Heaven’ was premiered via MARINA’s YouTube channel at 5:00pm GMT on 8th February 2019.
