Sunday, at the Television Critics Association’s press tour sessions, Netflix announced that Jessica Jones will return for a second season.
Although a release date has not been set, the Marvel spin off has been confirmed for 13 more episodes.
The first season follows Jessica Jones as a New York City private investigator in the Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood. After her temporary superhero job, Jones works hard to build up her career while fighting the demon that keeps coming back – Kilgrave. The season can be streamed now only on Netflix.
The news that Krysten Ritter, who plays the title character, would be returning to the show was confirmed as well.

The Official Marvel Entertainment Twitter account tweeted about the announcement with the attachment of picture of a slip of paper with Jessica Jones’ business name printed at the top. Printed in smudged writing are the words “How Can I Help?” with a New York phone number underneath. When dialed, the number goes straight to a recording of Jones saying “Alias Investigations. We’ve got cases and shit so, leave a message.” followed by a typical voicemail prompt.
Not much is known about the storyline of the upcoming season – however, Jeph Loeb, the Executive Producer and Marvel’s Head of Television, said that “we look forward to diving even deeper into these characters and this world.”
