Singer/songwriter Matt Koelsch has just released his latest single titled “Incomplete,” which he revealed to Huffington Post “is about falling just outside someone’s radar. You really enjoying being around them but they are off limits”.
Matt Koelsch is an artist from New England who has built his musical career writing about personal experiences “from the gains, losses and adventures” in his life. One particular event happened during the height of the recession, as he left the security of a world of finance, to one in the ever-changing music industry. He recalls, “I walked out of the doors of the financial building in Post Office square, I had this feeling of an enormous sense of relief, freedom and uncertainty”.
Now years later, Koelsch continues to pursue his passion with his latest project being his EP titled Thinking of You, which is set to release on July 14th. The EP was co-produced with Eugene Toale, (Kanye West, Las Cafeteras) and is inspired by his move from New England to the city of Los Angeles.
“Being in this setting during my late 20’s early 30’s has affected my writing because it has made me more vulnerable,” he says as a result of being over 3,000 miles away from home. “There is more time and space to explore and discover when you are in a completely new and foreign setting, removed from the comforts of your close network of relationships.”
