Matt Koelsch is an extremely passionate and thought provoking singer/songwriter from New England and he has built his musical career around stirring lyrics and soaring vocals. His songs strike a chord with listeners from all walks-of-life as he draws inspiration from common themes we go through in life; gains, losses and adventures.
During the height of the recession Matt Koelsch took a massive leap of faith into the unknown by giving up his position in the world of finance, and jumping head first into the somewhat turbulent music industry in a bid to follow his dream.
Ever since then he has been been pursuing his passion as a full-time recording and performing artist based in Los Angeles.
Speaking about a particular moment during his transformation period from a Wolf Of Wall Street style financier into a fully fledged performer, Koelsch says: “I walked out of the doors of the financial building in Post Office square, I had this feeling of an enormous sense of relief, freedom and uncertainty”.
Matt Koelsch’s latest EP, is titled ‘Thinking of You’ and was co-produced with Eugene Toale who has worked with megastars including the likes of Kanye West, and Las Cafeteras. Speaking about the record, Matt says: “Being in this setting during my late 20’s early 30’s has affected my writing because it has made me more vulnerable. There is more time and space to explore and discover when you are in a completely new and foreign setting, removed from the comforts of your close network of relationships”.
And he has now released the leading single off the EP titled ‘Perfectly Aligned‘. The track perfectly showcases Koelsch’s ability to write catchy lyrics and upbeat, dance-worthy melodies. The combination creates a perfect summer anthem.
