With the release of his brand new single ‘Chasing Stars’, Matteo Bocelli tells a poignant story about a supportive father encouraging his son to remain true who he is, rather than listening to who the world thinks he should be.
Written by Ed Sheehan, along with his brother Matthew, and produced by PARISI (Ed Sheeran, Fred Again), the emotive song serves as the latest single to be lifted off of Bocelli’s debut album ‘Matteo’ which is set to be released Friday, September 22nd 2023 via Capitol Records.
“Like the Sheeran brothers, I grew up in a family where music was very appreciated,” says Matteo, who has performed on some of the world’s biggest stages alongside his father, renowned tenor Andrea Bocelli. “Ed and Matthew wrote the song, but it seems like they wrote it for me. I really feel privileged to be the first to record it.”
With Ed adding: “‘Chasing Stars’ was written by me and my brother Matthew about our father, and how he was supportive to us when we were younger with our music. I love the finished version with Matteo, he’s such a talent. I hope everyone else enjoys it!”
