It’s hard to believe, but it’s been 21 years since the formation of McFly, a band that has undoubtedly left its mark on the music scene. McFly’s journey has been spectacular, from their debut hit ‘Five Colours In Her Hair’ to the rock-packed album ‘Power To Play’ released last year.
With Tom Fletcher, Danny Jones, Dougie Poynter, and Harry Judd, the band has achieved an enviable list of accolades, including seven #1 singles, seven Top 10 albums, 10 million sales, and a BRIT Award. Notably, they hold the record as the youngest band to have their debut album go straight to number 1, surpassing even The Beatles.
In celebration of their 21st anniversary, McFly is set to perform a special show at The O2 in London on Thursday, October 10th. Tickets will be available for general sale from 9 am on Friday, February 23rd. This announcement is a testament to the band’s enduring appeal and their ability to continuously engage their fans with new music and live performances.
Harry Judd, reflecting on the band’s journey, expressed his excitement and gratitude for the support from fans over the years. He noted, “It’s crazy to think that it has been 21 years since McFly was formed and we all moved into a house together! We don’t take it for granted that after all this time, people still want to hear new music from us and come see us play live.”
McFly’s recent work, including their album ‘Power To Play’, showcases their evolution as artists, blending hard rock with pop-punk thrills. Their live performances have ranged from intimate gigs to massive headline shows, demonstrating their versatility and commitment to their craft.
The upcoming show at The O2 is not just a celebration of McFly’s past but a showcase of their hits and fan favourites accumulated over two decades. This event adds to an already packed 2024 tour schedule for McFly, which includes outdoor shows and festival appearances across the UK.
