After an intense round of ‘The Knockouts’, the results have been revealed with two acts from each team moving forward to the Semi Finals of The Voice UK 2018.
Team Will
First up on Team Will is 18 year old Stevanage teenager Tai who won a place at the semi finals with her unique interpretation of the Dolly Parton Classic ‘Jolene’.
Given the dynamic presence he exudes in each performance, there’s no surprise that 16 year old Donel Manenga is the front runner of the whole competition. Win or lose, Donel is a ready made star.
Team Tom
After her showstopping performance of ‘Gravity’, it was only right that Lucy Milburn was the first of Team Tom to make it through.
18 year old Ruti Olajugbagbe is the dark horse of this year’s show. All eyes and ears are on what’s next from the singer, after her effortless performance of ‘Dreams’ rendered both the coaches and the audience speechless.
Team Jennifer Hudson
16 year old Gayatri impressed with her passionate performance of “This Is Me” and became Jennifer’s first act to make it through to the next stage.
JHud has been rooting for them from the beginning, and Classical duo Belle Voci are set to bring their unique sound to next week’s semi final.
Team Olly
27 year old Lauren Bannon of Weymouth fought her way to the lives with this stellar performance.
Jamie Grey has been performing on the underground for years, and even appeared on The Voice last year, only making it as far to blind auditions. It seems 2018 is his year as he was second member of Team Olly to advance to the lives.
Don’t miss next Saturday’s live Semi Finals of The Voice UK on ITV at 8.30 pm. The show will also include a performance from last year’s champion, Mo Jamil.
