After teasing her new material earlier in the week, Meghan Trainor is finally back with a brand new single and video, the ever so catchy ‘No Excuses’.
Co-written with JKash and Andrew Wells, Meghan has delivered a sassy bop which is bound to be another huge hit for her. ‘No Excuses’ is an infectious anthem from the off, armed with swaggering bass lines, bright guitars, and widescreen synths. The track also comes with a strong message about respect and empowerment, which is evident in the hook, “Your mama raised you better than that”.
Speaking about the track, Meghan said in a press release: “I love how so many women are standing up for what’s right, I wanted to write us all a powerful anthem. Sometimes, people talk down to me, because I’ve only been doing this for four years, so I wrote this song. It’s my modern version of ‘R-E-S-P-E-C-T.’ It’s all about equality and being kind.”
Meghan has also shared the energetic and bright visual for ‘No Excuses’. Directed by Colin Tilley, the visual focuses on a confident Meghan serving some fierce moves in an array of eye-catching and stunning looks. We also see the songstress multiplied throughout the visual, which is just awesome as you can never have enough Meghan Trainor.

‘No Excuses’ is the first track to be taken from Meghan’s forthcoming third album. After going through vocal cord surgery for the second time, and spending four months without speaking, Meghan has channeled her fiery energy into creating an incredible new body of music.
Whilst details are few and far between as of yet, an official press release states that Meghan recorded the album primarily with producer Andrew Wells. She also told Billboard that her family, including her mum, dad, brothers, and fiancé have recorded backing vocals for the songs.
Meghan is already championing album three as her best yet, and we can’t wait to hear more from the songstress very soon.
