Mel B teases 2016 Spice Girls tour!

Mel B, aka Scary Spice, has revived recent rumours about a 2016 Spice Girls tour in an interview with Billboard.

The “Wannabe” singers recently disputed the claims, with Emma “Baby Spice” Bunton and Sporty Spice Mel C claiming on Twitter that it was the first they’d heard of such plans, but Mel B has gone against the claims of her Spice Girls bandmates and said that they’re still trying to sort it out.

“One we sort everything out we’ll make an announcement, but right now we’re just figuring it all out” she told the Magazine. She then went on to say how all of the Spice Girls, who are still “really, really good friends”, want to do something to commemorate the bands 20 year Anniversary next year.

The band have already had one reunion tour and a one off performance at the closing ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics, which Victoria “Posh Spice” Beckham said would be her last performance with the group ever! This seems to corroborate the initial 2016 Spice Girls tour rumours, which said that the band was to go ahead with a tour without Victoria Beckham by their side, continuing on as a Four piece in the same way One Direction did when Zayn left, or Take That did when Robbie left (but before Jason left).

Mel B’s comments don’t directly address the rumours that Victoria is unwilling to tour as part of the Spice Girls anymore, but her statement that all of the girls got on very well and hoped to reunite would suggest that Victoria was on board, contrasting to previous rumours and Victoria’s own statements in the past. It could very well be, though, that the “sorting everything out” she alludes to means attempts to get Posh on board, and here’s hoping it works!

I’ll tell you what I want (what I really, really want): Posh, Baby, Scary, Sporty and Ginger to announce in the coming months they’ll all be hitting the road again to celebrate 20 years of the Spice Girls next year. Nothing would Spice up our lives more than that!

Who was your favourite Spice Girl growing up (Mine was Posh!), and how do you feel about yet another reunion from the group? Comment below, or tweet us @CelebMix.
