Melanie Martinez has been reborn in a spellbinding new trailer, which teases the arrival of their hugely anticipated new album, Portals, arriving via Atlantic Records on Friday, March 31st. This is their first release in nearly four years following their RIAA Gold-certified album, K-12.
“Portals screams death is life is death is life is death is life. A continuous loop. A circle,” Melanie shared. They announced Portals earlier this week with a viral TikTok video confirming the death of their alter-ego “Cry Baby,” last seen considering whether to walk into the light at the beguiling conclusion of 2019’s internationally acclaimed full-length film, K-12.
Throughout Melanie’s career, they have brought a unique vision with each album. In addition to their astonishing musical and visual work, they have a number of anticipated festival appearances that are currently set though the next month, including Lollapalooza Argentina (March 18), Lollapalooza Chile (March 19), Bogota, Columbia’s Estéreo Picnic (March 23), and Lollapalooza Brazil (March 25).
Fans can expect a wide-ranging international live schedule to be announced soon.
Pre-orders are available now HERE. There is also an exclusive cover of the album, titled the Portals Eyes Open Lenticular CD. The cover changes depending on the viewers angle, as it is moved.
