It’s been announced today (October 13th) that five-time Oscar-nominated actress Michelle Williams will narrate the audio edition of Britney Spears highly anticipated new memoir ‘The Woman In Me’.
Whilst pop icon Spears will record an intro to the book, Williams will speak aloud the rest.
In a statement to PEOPLE, the ‘Everytime’ singer said: “This book has been a labor of love and all the emotions that come with it. Reliving everything has been exciting, heart-wrenching, and emotional, to say the least. For those reasons, I will only be reading a small part of my audiobook. I am so grateful to the amazing Michelle Williams for reading the rest of it.”
In a show of solidarity and support, Williams said in her own statement: “I stand with Britney.”
Set to be released October 24th 2023 via Gallery Books, an imprint of American publishing company Simon & Schuster, ‘The Woman in Me’ promises to tell the “incredible journey (and) strength at the core of one of the greatest performers in pop music history”, as well as “illuminate the enduring power of music and love, and the importance of a woman telling her own story, on her own terms”.
“Britney’s compelling testimony in open court shook the world, changed laws, and showed her inspiring strength and bravery,” Jennifer Bergstrom, Gallery Books’ Senior Vice President and Publisher, said of the autobiography this past summer. “I have no doubt her memoir will have a similar impact – and will be the publishing event of the year. We couldn’t be more proud to help her share her story at last.”
The audiobook will be published simultaneously with the other editions of ‘The Woman in Me’, all of which are available for pre-order now.
