Miley Cyrus graces the front cover of this months Elle in the US.
In a candid new interview with the fashion magazine, Cyrus talks about everything from being a new coach on The Voice, her friendship with Britney Spears and why she will NEVER step foot on a red carpet again.
Explaining why she hates the Hollywood red carpet Miley tells Elle’s Terry Tsiolis, “(A year ago) I had to do the ‘A Very Murray Christmas’ premiere, and I will never do a red carpet again.”
“Why, when people are starving, am I on a carpet that’s red? Because I’m ‘important’? Because I’m ‘famous’? That’s not how I roll. It’s like a skit—it’s like Zoolander.”
The Can’t Stop singer, who no longer has a publicist, says she is more than happy to keep fans up to date with what she has going on via Instagram.
On her upcoming stint as a coach on The Voice, Miley wants her contestants to stand out. “I don’t want this to come off the wrong way, but I’m going to tell my contestants: Be Bernie Sanders.”
“Be the person people want and love. Don’t worry about the masses. That’s how you make a memorable moment. Let people talk about it.”

Talk then turned to Miley’s pal, and fellow pop princess, Britney Spears.
When asked about her relationship with the Make Me singer, Cyrus tells Tsiolis “(My manager Adam Leber) works with her; we’ve stayed close because of that.”
“She’s a little distant in her world. I just want Britney to be happy. Every time she puts out new music, I’m like, ‘Is that what she wants to be doing? Or does she just want to chill?’ She’s looking so good right now, and looking happy.”
The new issue of Elle is out on September 14th.
