Miley Cyrus performed her latest single Younger Now last night at the MTV Video Music Awards and put on a more vocal-centric performance than previous VMA performances.
Dressed up as one of the coolest girls in high school circa 1950s, Miley brought a touch of heartfelt singer-songwriter rock to the VMA’s. While the visuals for the performance were incredible, it was Miley’s vocals that stole the show.
Re-connecting with her roots, Miley gave a clean-cut performance and showed off her powerhouse vocals.

Cyrus’ upcoming sixth LP, Younger Now, is out September 29th. Last week, she released the music video to the album’s title-track, mixing her previous pop style and newfound folk/country leanings with a playful video filled with visual homages to Johnny Cash and Elvis Presley.
