Heavyweight German duo Milky Chance introduce their new single/music video, “Living In A Haze,” and at the same time announce their upcoming album, slated to drop on June 9.
Talking about “Living In A Haze,” the pair shares, “Sometimes you lose track of what’s important, live day by day distracted, and don’t really know how to get out of it. At the same time, it seems like everybody around you does not feel that way, life looks so easy when they do it and a desire builds up to have it just like that. So this one’s for all who wanna be able to dance the pain away.”
Since deciding to go independent, Milky Chance has released two singles, “Colorado” and “Synchronize,” along with two massively popular mixtapes, collecting more than 1.1 billion streams in 2022. With 5.5 billion streams inclusively and over 10 million monthly Spotify listeners, Milky Chance is an international tour de force.
“Living In A Haze” opens on low-slung, warping tones flowing into a pulsating dance rhythm topped by dreamy, wistful vocals. Soft, shimmering breakdowns imbue the tune with shifting harmonic flavors, followed by deliciously thrumming layers of leitmotifs.
“I been up a couple days I wonder why / I been living in a haze what a foolish life / Now I‘m back out on the pavement, don’t know why / I should be dancing / I should be dancing the night away.”
At once expressive and throbbing with contagious energy, “Living In A Haze” hits the sweet spot, merging stylish flair and momentum.
Just prior to dropping the new album, Milky Chance will set off on their tour across the U.S. and Canada, celebrating the 10th anniversary of their debut album, Sadnecessary, and the release of their fourth album.
