Miranda Fontana, one of the distinguished film composers and music sound editors from the new generation of Berklee College of Music, hasn’t stopped getting incredible career opportunities on several high-profile projects since she finished her degree. Fontana arranged a version of Louis Armstrong’s iconic song “What A Wonderful World” for a Coca-Cola commercial filmed in Spain with a global release and worked on soundtracks for commercials for LG Electronics, among other brands.
She specialized in music composition for film, TV, and video games, as well as in music sound editing. Originally from Argentina and residing in Boston, Massachusetts, Fontana reflects on her journey: “From the moment I finished my degree, countless doors opened for me thanks to the exceptional knowledge I gained from the excellent professors and uniquely talented peers at Berklee. Those were some of my best years, and since then, I felt that composing for film and television was my true path.”
Miranda’s passion for music was kindled in her early childhood. “In my house, music was always playing all day—folklore, tangos, modern classical music like Penderecki, jazz, blues, soul. I remember learning to dance before I could walk, swaying in my parents’ arms to the tunes of Frank Sinatra and Macy Gray.”
In the film industry, Miranda has worked on different projects such as “Un Crimen Argentino” from her own country, where she was the music and sound editor in the film directed by Lucas Combina for HBO Max. She has also contributed to the feature film “NUDE” directed by actress and director Sarah Sawyer (well-known for her role as one of the lead actresses in the HBO Max series, TOKYO VICE). The film addresses the pressing issue of cyberbullying among younger generations. “In this project, I had the honor of creating the special sound effects and audio editing,” she explains.
In addition to her work behind the scenes, Miranda Fontana recently enjoyed the experience of performing as a soloist in the soundtrack for an upcoming feature film, which is set to be released soon. Although she cannot yet disclose the title, her enthusiasm for this project is palpable.
Stay tuned to see what’s next for Miss Fontana!
