On January 14, 2016, Colleen (Ballinger) Evans first announced the Netflix Original Series, Haters Back Off. The show is about her YouTube alter-ego, Miranda Sings. Miranda is a girl that believes she was born famous but no one knows it yet. Miranda also made an announcement on her YouTube channel.
The show will star Colleen as Miranda Sings. The audience will finally be introduced to Miranda’s mother. Angela Kingsley will play the role of Miranda’s mother. Angela is most known for her role on The Office as Angela Martin. Steve Little plays Miranda’s uncle. He has also remained a mystery on Miranda’s channel. Patrick, Miranda’s friend and neighbor will be introduced too. Erik Stocklin will play the role of Patrick.
When the show will premiere has been the number one question since the announcement. That time is finally here. Miranda released a video announcing when the show will premiere – perfect timing since VidCon is currently happening. VidCon is a multi-genre online video conference. VidCon has been bringing YouTubers and fans of YouTube together since staring in 2010.
